Disable Gutenberg Block Editor

Gutenberg, the block editor introduced in WordPress 5.0, may not be suitable for all websites or workflows. If you prefer using the Classic Editor or another page builder, WP Adminify’s Disable Gutenberg feature allows you to completely remove Gutenberg from your entire website, including posts, pages, and custom post types. This can help streamline your content editing experience by eliminating Gutenberg's scripts and block editor interface. Here's how to disable Gutenberg for your entire website using WP Adminify.

1. Access the Disable Gutenberg Feature in WP Adminify

To begin, log in to your WordPress dashboard:

  • Navigate to WP Adminify > Performance

2. Enable the Disable Gutenberg Feature

  • Toggle the switch to Show (it should turn green).
  • Once enabled, a list of Gutenberg-related options for disabling the editor and its scripts will appear.

  • Check the box next to this option to disable Gutenberg completely across your entire website. This will remove the block editor and its associated scripts from posts, pages, and any custom post types.

4. Save Your Changes

After selecting the option to disable Gutenberg:

  • Scroll down and click the Save Changes button to apply your settings.

5. Verify that Gutenberg is Disabled

Once your settings are saved, go to the WordPress editor for any post, page, or custom post type:

Additionally, the unnecessary Gutenberg-related scripts will no longer load in the backend..

You should no longer see the Gutenberg block editor; instead, the Classic Editor or your preferred page builder will be used.
